Knowing when to purchase metered access titles based on a time period can be tricky if you don’t know exactly when the copies run out. For that reason, I’ve created a database to keep track of the NHDB purchases. The database also lists which license each copy falls under.
To run a report of metered access eBook titles that will expire in the near future:
- Log into Content Reserve.
- Run an advanced search with the following items selected:
- eBooks, In collection with 30 days or less remaining, Metered Access
- To find out if we own an single-license copies, look up the title in the NHDB Purchases database.
- In this case, we will keep one single-license copy, but lose the last remaining 12-month lease in one week.
