I often have trouble reestablishing a wireless Internet connection with my Vista laptop. The small icon showing a network connection will state that I’m connected to the network, but with local access only. Here’s what I do to fix this:
- Click on the small network icon in the lower-right corner of the screen. (It looks like a double computer screen.) A small dialog box will open.
- Click on “Network and Sharing Center.”
- Click on the small, red “x” to diagnose the problem.
- Click on “Automatically get new IP settings for the network adapter “Wireless network Connection.”
- You’ll see the “Repairing” box…
- And that normally fixes things for me.
I hope this works for you!
